In addition to providing our services to the families and friends of our Fallen Heroes, both Active Duty and Past Service, the Patriot Guard Riders has a Division called Help On The Homefront.
What we try to accomplish through our HOTH Division is to aid and assist those veterans and families of veterans who find themselves in situations beyond their means to cope. This assistance can range from helping the wife of a deployed soldier move to another place of residence, to assisting with food and utility expenses, to building wheelchair ramps for those veterans who have exhausted all other means of support and are in serious need of this service.
Using both donated funds and Time and Materials donated by various local suppliers and contractors, we have been able to help many veterans and veteran families when they needed the help the most, and were left with no other resources.
The HOTH Division is a nationwide effort, coordinated and supervised at the state level, and we are sometimes able to procure funds from the National treasury as well. Our Washington HOTH is currently coordinated by our HOTH Director, Tom “Gunny” Shirey, and he can be contacted via email at gunny@pgrofwa.org.
If you have a need, or know a veteran or active-duty family in need, you may contact Gunny, and we will review each case to determine what level of assistance we can provide, even including directing them to resources they may not know about.
We are a registered Non-profit Charitable Organization in Washington, and a qualified 501(c)3 with the IRS. Donations are welcome, and can be sent to us at:
